No matter how conscious you are of your health and figure, there will be times when you just feel to binge eat.
No worries because here are 3 stretches that aid in keeping mindless eating under control.
#1 Abs with a Blanket
Why it’s helpful: People tend to be really disconnected from the physical sensations in their core area, which can lead to confusion over whether or not you’re actually hungry, Dwiggins says. Doing this move helps bring more awareness into that area while encouraging movement through the digestive system.
How to do it: Lie down on your back with your knees bent and your feet hip-width apart, with your feet underneath your knees. Put a rolled-up blanket or towel between your legs and clasp your hands behind your head, with your elbows pointing up toward the ceiling to cradle the head so it can relax. Breathe into your lower back, hold the breath, squeeze the blanket or towel, and curl your tailbone up. Exhale, and lift your head and shoulders up off the floor. On the same exhale, pull your lower belly down and then lower your head and shoulders down. Repeat. If this move is easy for you and you don’t have any back or hamstring injuries, you can do the same exercise with your legs lifted up and stretched toward the ceiling the entire time (see the video above for a demonstration of this variation).
